D3 Productions, Inc. is based in Oakland, California.
We specialize in producing television programs about China and
commercials and promotional videos for corporations.
In addition to our two weekly half-hour series—Inside
China and Land of the Dragon—we film on-location
feature-length documentaries that introduce Chinese culture to
American audiences. Our programs and commercials can be seen on
independent and PBS television stations across the United States, as
well as in Mainland China.
The professional D3 Productions team is also
extremely proficient in creating original computer graphics and
special effects. Our production facilities and equipment accommodate
quality format requirements in Digital, Betacam and Umatic. |

Our
mission is to promote cultural exchange by making quality
educational programming about China widely available to viewers in
the United States. As the flow of information between China and the
United States rapidly increases, we offer unique insights into
Chinese history and culture. By delving deeply into social,
economic, and cultural issues in China, we hope that our shows can
foster global perspectives. |

The
roots of D3 Productions, Inc. were planted in the early 1990s when
founder and executive producer Duffy Wang first realized his
longtime vision of producing a cultural television program about
China. Wang recognized that there was a cultural void in the world
of public television programming, and sought to increase the flow of
information about China in the American media. He started by
producing his own show, Inside China, as an hour-long program
on KCNS TV-38, an independent television station in the San
Francisco Bay Area.
Inside China
was so well received that in 1997 he founded D3 Productions, Inc.,
and the show became a widely distributed half-hour program airing on
PBS stations across the nation. D3 Productions has seen steady
growth since then, and in 2002 began producing Land of the Dragon,
another weekly, half-hour documentary series about China. Most
recently, we have also expanded by filming an ongoing, special
series of feature-length documentaries, shot on-location in China.
